6 ways to prep your Natural hair for Winter

6 ways to prep your Natural hair for Winter

Here are 6 tip I would give to prepare your natural hair for winter:

Invest in a steamer to use with your Deep Conditioner treatment.

As the air gets colder, you may find your hair becomes more dry and brittle!  Prevent winter breakage by deep conditioning at least once a fortnight with a steamer! The steam treatment allows your conditioner to sink deeper into your hair to nourish strands and revitalise dry hair textures. Even after the first steam you will notice a dramatic difference in the way in which your hair feels and behaves!

Pre-poo with a natural oil before your regular shampoo.

Use a scalp, oil like our Grow-it-long serum, overnight, applied to your strands and massaged into your scalp. Adding a natural oil to your hair before your shampoo, will add extra moisture to your hair, taking away the dryness a shampoo can often effect in your hair.

            Butter Up!

If you are used to applying a crème moisturiser to your hair, leave-in conditioner or just an oil, try something different this winter. Natural butters crafted specifically for your hair will deliver intense moisture to the hair. Often made with Shea butter, and with no water added they offer undiluted hydration that can increase elasticity, and protect your natural hair from the harsh winter elements. Check-out our 100% Natural hair butter, all-natural and delicious for all textures.

                Heat-free holiday:

Ditch the blow-dryer and straighteners this winter and give your hair a break from heat. Any break from heat will strengthen your hair and allow the protein within the hair shaft to remain in-tact. Healthy hair looks and feels alive, although our hair is officially dead, we can keep it vibrant when treated with TLC.

                    Preserve your FRO!

A safe protective style, will allow your hair to grow and be preserved throughout the winter months. Constant manipulation over time stresses our strands, leading to breakage and damage! A safe protective style, freezes the current condition of your hair in time. Your protective style can however damage your hair, if not installed in a healthy way. If for example you are considering braids, ensure they are not tight!  The same for the installation of a weave, or even if you are having locs styled. If your hair feels tight, it is not right.

                        Keep your scalp clean!

If you have been co-washing and forgoing a shampoo recently as the weather has been warm, switch this up! A shampoo should be used primarily on your scalp, it will keep the follicles clean and clear allowing for healthy hair growth. When selecting your shampoo it is best to use a formula that is mild, natural and sulphate free. Check out our scalp tingling shampoo, enriched with ginger, and plant proteins.

                          Havest time, grow my hair

I really enjoyed using the harvest hair growth pack especially the grow it long hair serum.
In under 3 months my hair became thicker and noticed hair growth too
This is a very good natural hair brand to use.
                          Thank you

A product we simply love, by far the best detangler available ✨

                          Honey Rain Hair Juice

Used it on my Grandaughters hair, brilliant! After years of trying to find something that works it is great.

                          Gentle relief

Current using this products on my braids. Gives me great relief in those hard to reach places. Light and refreshing on my scalp.

                          Seals the hair well

So I bought this solely for heat protection when blowdrying my girls hair. So due to them having different textures and absorption levels, I noticed that less can be more. The whip is a good texture and the Shea is prominent and you can feel it. It seals the hair very well and doesn't leave a residue or white shine. I say less is more as my daughter with thicker hair didn't need as much as her hair responded well to absorption, and I wanted to avoid that heaviness that Shea can add to the hair. My other daughter has not as thick hair and needed less and the product did not sit on her hair and was absorbed well. So far I'm happy with product.
